Netto to open stores in Hull and Lymm
Danish discount retailer Netto is to open food stores in Hull and Lymm as it looks to open 15 UK stores by the end of 2015 in its joint venture with Sainsburys.
The 1,045 square metre Hull store will be situated in the Bransholme area of the city and is set to create 25 new jobs.
Kate Connolly, acquisitions manager of Netto, said: “This decision will bring forward the development of the site, thereby bringing investment to the local area, creating local jobs and enhancing food store provision in Hull.”
Indigo Planning has already secured permission for a number of stores for the retailer in Leeds, Manchester, Doncaster, Sheffield, and Ormskirk, which have all been part of retail parks.
Speaking of the Hull store, Andy Astin, associate director at Indigo Planning, said: “This will be the first standalone Netto store, bringing its trademark products with a Danish influence further into a UK market that is showing a strong demand for value-led supermarket shopping.”
