Kering appoints Stefano Cantino as the deputy chief executive of Gucci

Luxury group Kering has appointed former Louis Vuitton and Prada executive Stefano Cantino as the deputy chief executive of Gucci.

Due to take up his role on 2 May, Cantino served for over five years from 2018 as senior vice president of communication and events at Louis Vuitton.

Prior to that, he worked for 20 years at Prada Group, most recently as group marketing, communications and business development director.

In his new position, he will be assisting Gucci president and chief executive Jean-Francois Palus in his work to revitalise the brand.

In a statement, Kering said: “In this newly created position, Sefano Cantino will share with Jean-Francois Palus the responsibility to define and implement the brand strategy.”

Kering’s portfolio also includes brands such as Saint Laurent, Balenciaga and McQueen.
