Womens clothing retailer Bonmarché increased like-for-like sales in its stores by 3.8% in the 13 weeks to 27 December despite the challenges posed by the mild autumn weather.
During the period, total sales grew by 9.1% with online sales climbing by 34.9%.
The results mean that store like-for-like sales have grown by 6.4% in the financial year to date while online sales have risen by 44.4%. Total sales have increased by 10.9%.
Bonmarché chief executive Beth Butterwick said: "We are satisfied with Bonmarché's Q3 performance in a challenging, promotionally-driven market. Gross margins remained under pressure, but we continued to make positive LFL sales gains. Much of the challenge in the clothing market was due to the prolonged mild weather, which began in September and continued until mid-December.
“The board believes that the year's performance will be in line with its expectations."
At the end of December, Bonmarché traded from 282 stores.
