Bon Accord makes three new signings

Aberdeen’s Bon Accord shopping centre has signed up a trio of new retailers.

Smiggle, the Australian children’s stationery brand, will open its first store in Aberdeen at 26a Bon Accord in a 1,000 square foot unit.

In addition, fitted kitchen retailer Magnet will occupy a 2,100 square foot shop at 139 George Street, adjacent to Bon Accord and immediately opposite the city’s John Lewis department store.

Meanwhile, EE will be relocating to a larger 1,750 square foot shop at 30 Bon Accord.

Owned by BMO Real Estate Partners, Bon Accord attracts an average of 275,000 visitors a week and is situated in the heart Aberdeen city centre. Anchored by John Lewis and Marks & Spencer, the centre’s retail line-up also includes Next, Topshop, H&M, New Look and River Island as well as Jigsaw, Hobbs, Phase Eight and Jo Malone.

Joanne Wilkes, head of in town retail at BMO Real Estate Partners, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Smiggle to Aberdeen and the letting to Magnet will sit very well on George Street, as part of the homewares hub that we are building next to John Lewis.

“These lettings have demonstrated continued growth in rental levels and reinforces Bon Accord’s position as Aberdeen’s retail destination of choice.”
