John Lewis extends click & collect order cut-off so shoppers can pick up purchases on Chrstmas Eve

John Lewis is to extend its click and collect order cut off by 24 hours to Saturday 23 December at 8pm to enable customers to collect their parcels in John Lewis shops until they close on Christmas Eve.

The shops will all be open as usual on Christmas Eve in accordance with normal Sunday opening times.

The retailer said customers wishing to collect from Waitrose shops on Christmas Eve will still need to place orders by Friday 22 December at 8pm.

Dino Rocos, operations director at John Lewis, said: 'With Christmas Eve falling on a Sunday this year we're expecting to see a gifting surge right up until the last minute.

“Our decision to extend click and collect cut off times this Christmas, means that for our customers the stress of Christmas shopping is a thing of the past, allowing them to spend more time with their families and less time chasing parcels at this important time of year.

“In addition, our click and collect process is managed internally within the John Lewis network which helps us to maintain our high level of customer service.'

The announcement follows the recent launch of self-service check-in kiosks for John Lewis click and collect orders in 140 Waitrose shops.
