Coast rolls out new flagship store concept to Manchester

Occasionwear retailer Coast is to open a new flagship store in Manchester's Trafford Centre tomorrow. The opening marks the first regional roll out of the retailerÂ’s new flagship store concept which was launched in CoastÂ’s Oxford Street shop in July.

Coast rolls out new flagship store concept to Manchester

Occasionwear retailer Coast is to open a new flagship store in Manchester's Trafford Centre tomorrow. The opening marks the first regional roll out of the retailerÂ’s new flagship store concept which was launched in CoastÂ’s Oxford Street shop in July.

Designed by award winning interior designer Lee Broom, the 3,540 sq ft store is more than three times the size of the previous Coast shop in the shopping centre. The opening forms part of the brand’s strategy to launch showcase stores in key cities across the UK as it looks to capture a larger share of the occasionwear market.

As well as being a showcase for the brand’s occasionwear ranges, the store will feature its bridal collection, vintage pieces and the bespoke Coast by Appointment service. In addition, in-store iPads will facilitate assisted service on the shop floor by displaying information in multiple languages. The store will also offer Coast customers access to in-store WiFi for the first time.

Margaret McDonald, managing director of Coast, commented: "Following our success on Oxford Street in London, Manchester was the obvious location to launch the regional roll-out of our new concept store given its heritage of dominating retail in the North West.

"Despite facing ongoing financial pressures, our customers are determined to continue looking great for a special occasion. We’re proud to be responding to this demand with a unique store environment and service experience that turns shopping into an occasion in itself."

Coast’s new flagship store concept is part of a £2 million investment in the brand by parent group Aurora Fashions as it drives forward its strategy of realigning its store portfolio in key markets.
