Burberry names new chief merchandising officer
Having joined the company on 8 May, she has succeeded Paul Price who is leaving Burberry in July.
Collinson previously worked with Christian Dior for five years where she was senior vice president of merchandising for the US. With extensive experience in fashion retail and luxury merchandising, she also worked for 22 years at the Barneys New York department store.
In her new position, Collinson will drive Burberry’s product strategies as it takes action to strengthen the brand and position the business for growth.
She will report initially to chief creative and chief executive officer Christopher Bailey and then to Marco Gobbetti when he becomes chief executive in July.
Bailey said: “Judy has extensive experience of fashion retail and luxury merchandising that will be invaluable to Burberry as we take action to strengthen the brand and position the business for growth. I would like to thank Paul Price for the significant contribution he has made to Burberry over past nine years and wish him every success in the future.”
