Asda enters price war by cutting cost of 3,000 products
Asda has entered the price war between leading supermarkets by announcing that it has cut the price of 3,000 everyday products such as cereals, bread, butter and laundry products.
Customers are also being offered a £5 voucher when they spend £40 or more which will be redeemable against their next £40 shop. Vouchers will be issued between 17 and 23 October and can be redeemed between 18 and 30 October.
The promotion is being run alongside the Asda Price Guarantee where the supermarket promises to be 10% cheaper than Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s or Waitrose on comparable grocery shopping otherwise shoppers are given the difference in vouchers.
The move follows the launch of Tesco's 'Big Price Drop' promotion which also claims to cut the price of 3,000 everyday products and Sainsbury's 'Brand Match' initiative where the cost of branded items in customers' shopping baskets are automatically compared at the checkout.
