New West End Company appoints seven retail leaders to its board
New West End Company, the organisation responsible for the management and promotion of Londons Bond Street, Oxford Street and Regent Street, has appointed seven retail heavyweights to its board.
The new appointments include John Lewis retail director Andrew Murphy, Austin Reed chief executive Nick Hollingworth, Aurum Holdings chief executive Brian Duffy, and Tiffany UK and Ireland managing director Barratt West.
The other new members joining the board are House of Fraser chief operating officer Peter Gross, Longchamp UK general manager Paul Lorraine, and Boots director of stores for the south Andrew Caplan.
Taking up their new roles immediately, the new members will join the eight current members of the board which include Fenwick chairman Mark Fenwick and Selfridges operations director Sue West.
Sir Peter Rogers, chairman of New West End Company, said: “London’s West End is a major economic driver for the country generating over £51bn to the national economy each year. It is vital the West End business voice is heard with the new Government and a future Mayor. Our job is to ensure we have enlightened policies and investment for the world’s top shopping and leisure destination to thrive.
“Our strengthened board will drive policy influence at all levels of Government and provide an even greater international network to the retail and property sector.”
