Virgin Megastores to host UK PS3 launch
Sony Computer Entertainment UK has selected Virgin Megastores as the official UK retail partner for the UK PS3 launch.
Virgin Megastores Oxford Street in London will host the official UK PlayStation 3 launch, and will include official merchandise and incentives for the fist customers to collect their console from the store.
“The PS3 is without a doubt one of the most anticipated console launches ever so it is very exciting to be able to offer our customers the complete Sony experience at launch,” said Senior Promotions and PR Manager, Stephen Lynn.
Full details of what is planned for the launch will be released at a later time.
“Virgin Megastores is the perfect partner for the launch of PS3,” said Ray Maguire, Managing Director SCE UK. “We are well aware how patient and loyal our customers have been waiting for PS3 to arrive and fully intend to reward them with the launch they deserve. Plans are already well underway and we are working with local authorities to ensure we delivery the best console launch ever.”
It’s still possible to pre-order a PS3 with Virgin Megastores and there will be some stock available at the Oxford Street store and other selected Megastores at the launch.
