Kingfisher CFO to step down and join Compass Group
Kingfisher, the owner of the B&Q and Screwfix chains, is on the hunt for a new chief financial officer following the resignation of Karen Witts who is joining Compass Group.
Witts is leaving the business after six years of being on the company’s board although the date of her departure has yet to be confirmed.
In a statement, Kingfisher said it is conducting a search for her successor although Witts will remain in post for the time needed to ensure a smooth handover of responsibilities.
Véronique Laury, Kingfisher chief executive, said: “I am very grateful to Karen for the important role she has played in the implementation of Kingfisher’s transformation strategy and look forward to continuing to work with her over the coming months. I would also like to thank Karen for all of the support and wise counsel she has given me since joining the board. I wish her all the best in her new role at Compass.”
