Søstrene Grene to enter new European markets

Danish homewares brand Søstrene Grene is to expand into Italy and Poland in 2026 as it continues to target 500 stores by 2027.

The new markets will be supported by local ecommerce platforms from launch.

Mikkel Grene, Søstrene Grene chief executive and co-owner, said: “Despite ongoing economic headwinds, we continue to see strong footfall and engagement across our stores.

“We believe in the long-term relevance of physical retail – especially when it offers discovery, inspiration and emotional connection.”

Never Miss a Retail Update!

Søstrene Grene is also planning to open a webshop in Spain, where it previously operated physical stores, as well as Finland.

The brand has recently made a significant investment in its infrastructure, including a new 45,000 square metre logistics centre in the Netherlands and a global SAP.

Søstrene Grene has also established a dedicated venture team to explore new business models and retail concepts. One such pilot, Lillesøster, (Little Sister) a compact, high-frequency store format, will launch this summer in Zurich.

The brand has previously announced that it is planning to double its UK store count by 2027.

Grene said: “We’ve just closed our financial year, and while final figures are pending, we expect record results on both revenue and profit.

“That performance gives us the foundation to keep investing in long-term growth, innovation and customer experience.”
