JYSK to open first Welsh store in Swansea in early 2027

JYSK, the Danish homeware and furniture retailer, is to open its first store in Wales in early 2027.

The move marks the first time JYSK has entered a new UK nation since launching in England in 2008.

The new store in Swansea’s Parc Tawe North Retail Park will span over 1,000 square metres and will have over 1,000 product SKUs available, with prices starting from under £1.

It will be designed in line with JYSK’s latest retail concept, with a “bright and inspiring” shopping environment. The layout will showcase home categories including furniture, mattresses, home decor, storage solutions and outdoor living.

The retailer is planning to launch more Welsh stores throughout 2027.

Ciaron Hearns, brand & marketing Manager, UK & Ireland at JYSK, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be opening our first store in Wales and finally sharing the news after working towards this opening for some time.

“We’re not only opening a new store but also entering a new country with excellent growth potential. This is an important milestone for JYSK as we look to continue our UK expansion over the coming years. We can’t wait to welcome new customers through the doors and become part of the local community.”

JYSK currently operates 26 UK stores as it continues its expansion across key European markets. Earlier this year, it announced plans to open up to 100 stores in major European cities including Dublin, Amsterdam and Madrid.

In its 2025/26 financial year, JYSK’s global turnover increased by 12.9% to DKK 52.3 billion.
