JYSK launches new strategy to become customers’ first choice

JYSK has announced a new global strategy where it will invest DKK 2 billion in IT solutions over the next three years.

Called Customers’ First Choice, the new plan will also include the Danish home and furniture retailer prioritising the opening new stores in existing markets and in large metropolitan cities in Europe.

JYSK currently operates over 3,500 shops across 50 countries, including 27 in the UK. In its last strategy period, JYSK invested DKK 4.7 billion in its latest store concept where more than 3,000 JYSK stores were successfully redesigned.

Rami Jensen, president and chief executive of JYSK, said: “Expansion is part of our DNA, and we already have a strong position in the market.

“In the next years, we see an opportunity to grow even more in the countries where we already have stores and a strong logistics setup.

“Furthermore, we want to get closer to customers in some of the bigger metropolitan cities such as Madrid, where we plan to open more stores within the next financial year with great Scandinavian offers within sleeping and living,”

JYSK now plans to invest at least DKK 2 billion in its IT infrastructure, online shopping options and other customer-facing platforms,to enable customers to shop with JYSK “anywhere and anytime”.

Jensen added: “We need to continue to upgrade and develop our digital solutions to stay competitive. We have invested in our great store network and now our digital touch points must also follow to ensure an easy shopping experience for our customers no matter where they shop with JYSK.”
