Picard eyes international expansion
French frozen food company Picard is accelerating its international expansion plans with the appointment of Maxime Margain as international manager.
Margain previously worked as country manager for the UK and Ireland with St Michel Biscuits where he initiated numerous partnerships with major food groups. Prior to that, he worked with the Auchan supermarket chain.
With around 1,200 stores across France and an ecommerce platform offering home delivery and click & collect services, Picard offers a range of gourmet frozen food products.
It also has around 20 stores in Belgium and Luxembourg and partnerships in the UK, the Netherlands, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Singapore. Picard said the first countries to be developed will include the UK.
In his new role, Margain will report to Picard chairwoman, Cécile Guillou.
Picard has a turnover of more than €1.8 billion and employs around 5,000 people.
