The Perfume Shop opens experiential store at Basingstoke’s Festival Place

The Perfume Shop has opened the doors to another new and improved experiential store at Festival Place, Basingstoke on Friday 25th August 2023.

The iconic retailer, which last year celebrated its 30th Birthday, will be continuing to offer the hottest perfume launches, celebrity fragrances and classic designer scents, alongside its passionate in-store team, offering expert advice.

The stylish new store is set to feature a brand-new layout and upgraded services including a digital screen, a personalised ribbon machine, as well as offering The Perfume Shop’s signature expert fragrance consultations, complimentary gift wrapping and a recycling service where customers can drop off used perfume bottles to receive 15% off their next purchase.

The Perfume Shop’s continuous expansions on new stores and experiential counters across the UK and re-fitting existing stores to ensure sustainability is always at the forefront. With this, stores continue to benefit from factors such as energy efficient LED lighting throughout, which contributes to The Perfume Shop’s commitment in reducing their energy consumption by 30% by 2030 vs 2015.

All Principal Contractors are ISO14001 accredited to ensure their waste management on site is adhered to along with the control of the ongoing environmental impact of their operations. Where possible, existing materials and equipment are retained or reused.

Shelley Store Manager at The Perfume Shop Basingstoke commented: “We’re so excited to introduce another new experiential store in Festival Place, Basingstoke. We can guarantee a first class experience with our knowledgeable team here at The Perfume Shop Basingstoke.”

One of the UK’s largest specialty fragrance retailers and home to nearly 130 brands, from designer perfume houses to celebrity fragrances, The Perfume Shop has been a staple of the high street for 30 years, serving those with a nose for great value.

The new store is located at 1 Bedford Walk, Festival Place, Basingstoke, Hants RG21 7LJ

Neil Churchill, Festival Place Centre Director, said: “The Perfume Shop is a consistently popular retail brand among our line-up and we are pleased to see this significant enhancement to their proposition. Their new experiential store which delivers a first-class experience is a fantastic addition to our fabulous range of international and local brands”.

With 25 new leases and lease renewals agreed since the beginning of 2022, Festival Place continues to demonstrate its resilience and relevance as a significant retail and leisure destination. The latest leasing deal has been signed with Black Sheep Coffee. Recent leasing activity also includes the provision of space to the Community Food Link, a Basingstoke charity that collects fresh food and delivers it to those in need, to operate a new delivery Hub.

Having launched in October 2002, Festival Place is the highest ranked shopping centre outside a major UK city. It is listed in the top 25 of the latest Global Data’s UK shopping centres report and sits within Trevor Wood Associates’ Premier League of shopping centres. The 1.1 million sq. ft retail and leisure destination features retail, dining and leisure brands such as Apple, H&M, M&S, Next, Waterstones and Five Guys alongside amenities including a Sports Centre with swimming pool and gym, a 10-screen Vue Cinema, a Flip Out trampoline park, Escape and indoor entertainment experience plus office space and a library.
