Aldi to create 1,100 jobs this year

Aldi is to create more than 1,100 new store roles this year as it prepares to invest more than £370 million in the opening of 40 new shops.

The supermarket will be offering both full-time and part-time work for positions such as store assistants, cleaners and store managers.

Last month, it announced that it will be increasing its pay rates for store staff for a second time since the new year in April.

Aldi currently operates more than 1,080 stores across the UK.

Kelly Stokes, recruitment director at Aldi UK, said: “We want to encourage more people across the UK to consider a career in retail, starting with high-quality training and development that gives people the skills and confidence to succeed.

“As we open more stores, we’re creating more opportunities for people to start to build rewarding careers with Aldi.

“With market-leading pay, clear progression routes and ongoing support, we’re helping more people grow in retail while bringing Aldi’s award-winning, affordable products to more local communities.”
