Former Prada head becomes chief executive of Alexander McQueen
Luxury group Kering has announced that Gianfranco D’Attis has become the new chief executive of Alexander McQueen.
With the appointment effective from 3 June, D’Attis will be based in London and will report to Kering chief executive Luca de Meo.
Subscribe to TRBD’Attis has worked for more than 25 years in the luxury sector, most recently as chief executive of Prada. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles at LVMH and Richemont in Asia, America and Europe.
At Alexander McQueen, he will lead the brand’s next stage of development as it works to strengthen its positioning with a leaner and more disciplined model built around focused collections, a rightsized retail network and a streamlined organisation.
De Meo said: “I am very pleased to welcome Gianfranco to Kering. He brings a powerful combination of strategic vision, operational rigor and deep luxury expertise.
“His ability to sharpen brand identity while driving disciplined execution will be critical as we refocus Alexander McQueen and unlock its full potential.
“I am confident that, together with the teams, he will lead the House into its next phase of development.”
For the last four years, Alexander McQueen has been led by Gianfilippo Testa who has decided to leave Kering later this year.
