JYSK to launch two new stores in Greater Manchester area

Danish furniture retailer JYSK is open two new stores within the Greater Manchester area as part of its UK expansion plans.

The first will launch on 10 June in Bury at Angouleme Retail Park while the second will open in Stockport at Manchester Road Retail Park on 8 July.

Jenny Johnston, JYSK sales and marketing manager for the UK & Ireland, said: “We are thrilled to be opening two stores in Greater Manchester to make our affordable and much-loved furniture even more accessible in the North. Our head office operations are also based in Stockport, so we have a strong affinity for the area and continue to see it prosper. The Bury and Stockport stores will bring the affordable Scandi homewares and furniture that we are synonymous with to discerning and design-conscious shoppers of Greater Manchester who will be able to click and collect the same day, as well as explore exclusive in-store lines.”

JYSK achieved record results in the UK & Ireland during its 2019/2020 financial year with total sales rising by 74% to €41 million year-on-year.

After reaching a milestone 3,000 stores worldwide in February 2021, JYSK is now aiming for a total of 5,000 stores. It is currently planning to have 26 stores operating in the UK by the end of the current financial year following new launches in Leeds, Barnsley and Gainsborough.
