M&S embarks on brand partnership with Clinique

Marks & Spencer has embarked on a new online and in-store partnership with the Clinique skincare and make-up brand.

From this summer, the retailer will offer around 500 Clinique products for women and men, which will include best sellers such as the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion.

In addition to being available on M&S.com for free next day delivery or click and collect, the products will be sold in 34  M&S stores across the country which will all have Clinique counters with experts on hand. Meanwhile, a further 40 stores will display items in bespoke Clinique fixtures, some of which will be in M&S menswear sections.

Rachel Baker, vice president/general manager Clinique UK & Ireland, said, “This is an extremely exciting time for Clinique to be entering into one of the UK’s most iconic and trusted high street shopping destinations. Marks & Spencer offer a convenient hybrid shopping experience, and we want to make it accessible for consumers to purchase their favourite Clinique products seamlessly, whilst shopping instore or online.”

The new partnership comes as M&S changes its beauty offering at pace as it looks to become more relevant to customers through both exclusive own brand products and complementary third-party brands. The latter include the likes of Aveda, Origins, REN, Emma Hardie, Eve Lom and Prai. The retailer said around 15% of M&S clothing and home customers shopped for beauty products last year as it encouraged cross-category shopping through a range of initiatives and its Sparks loyalty scheme.

Richard Price, managing director of M&S clothing and home, said: “A compelling beauty offer is part of our plans to reshape M&S – innovating with our own brands and continuing to introduce complementary third-party products such as skincare experts Clinique. Our broad customer base and reach makes us an attractive platform partner and in turn introducing beauty brands helps us become more relevant, more often for our 22 million customers – offering them a convenient and seamless shopping experience.”

The 34 stores with the full M&S x Clinique offer will include AberdeenArgyle St Glasgow, Birmingham, Braehead, Bromley, Camberley, Cheshire Oaks, Cheshunt, Culverhouse Cross, Fosse Park, Gemini, Gyle, Handforth, Hedge End, Kingston, Leeds, Liffey Valley Dublin, Lisburn, Liverpool, London Colney, Longbridge, Manchester, Marble Arch, Meadowhall, Merryhill, Metro Centre, Milton Keynes, Newcastle, Nottingham, Pudsey, Shoreham, Stratford City London, Thurrock and Vangarde.
