Superdrug freezes the price of all cosmetics

Superdrug has frozen the prices of thousands of makeup products as it celebrates becoming the number one retailer for cosmetics in the UK mass market.

The health and beauty retailer has committed to holding the price of 5,000 items from brands such as Rimmel, E.L.F, Maybelline and Own-Brand Studio London until the summer.

The announcement comes as Superdrug held a 40.5% share of mass market cosmetics in February, its highest market share in ten years.

Superdrug has recently revealed that its own-brand cosmetics range, Studio London has become its fastest growing own-brand range ever, following strong sales of trending products such as the Bronzing Drops and Dewy Setting Spray.

Superdrug’s trading director, Megan Potter said: “We are thrilled to become the number one retailer for cosmetics. Our commitment to offering great quality and affordability to our customers is at the heart of everything that we do.

“As a leading health and beauty retailer, we pride ourselves on putting our customers first and we’re committed to making cosmetics more affordable for our shoppers and supporting them with the rising cost of living.”
