Secret Sales doubles Black Friday turnover

Online marketplace Secret Sales has seen its Black Friday turnover rise by 100% year-on-year after posting particularly strong uplifts in sales of menswear.

Men’s branded t-shirts, jumpers, hoodies and coats were very popular on the site and top womenswear items included coats, dresses and high-heeled shoes as customers prepared for the party season.

Fiona Lay, digital director at Secret Sales, said: “Customers love to trade up at this time of year to buy those bigger ticket items, so our ‘up to 80% off Designer Boutique’ proved very engaging, while the strongest sales came from a broad cross-section of luxury and premium high street brands. Our impressive Black Friday results consolidate Secret Sales’ reputation as the go-to destination for the best deals from top brands.”

Secret Sales also saw solid growth in its gifting category as shoppers purchased Christmas items earlier this year. Watches, bags, jewellery, slippers and purses were particularly popular.

The company’s average order value for purchases made throughout the Black Friday week was £73, which was 15% more than 2020’s figure.
