JD.com appoints Zarina Kanji as director of European direct sourcing
JD.com, the Chinese online retail giant, has appointed Zarina Kanji as director of European direct sourcing.
Based in London, Kanji will lead the sourcing of European brands to sell to JD.com’s 700 million annual active users in China, with a particular focus on fashion, sport, health and beauty.
Subscribe to TRBKanji was previously managing director for the UK and Europe at WPIC Marketing + Technologies, and has worked as a senior international business development manager at Holland & Barrett. Her career has also included business development and marketing positions at Alibaba, as well as the role of VP of global fashion and sports brand partnerships at Lazada.
Announcing her new position on LinkedIn, Kanji said: “I am looking forward to working alongside my new colleagues Sid Dhar and Ellie Nye, and to continue working with industry partners to drive export growth and global opportunity for brands.”
In March, JD.com launched its Joybuy online shopping destination in the UK, with products ranging from consumer tech and home appliances to beauty, groceries, homeware and baby essentials.
