eBay acquires NFT marketplace Known Origin
eBay has acquired NFT marketplace Known Origin as part of its tech-led transformation.
Founded in 2018 in Manchester, Known Origin enables artists and collectors to create, buy and resell NFTs via blockchain-support transactions.
eBay said the move will empower a new wave of NFT creators, sellers and buyers.
Jamie Iannone, chief executive of eBay, said: “eBay is the first stop for people across the globe who are searching for that perfect, hard-to-find, or unique addition to their collection and, with this acquisition, we will remain a leading site as our community is increasingly adding digital collectibles.

eBay has made significant upgrades to its technology, performance and customer experience recently and began allowing the buying and selling of NFTs in May 2021.
