Ocado to open 55,000 sq ft automated fulfilment centre in Stoke-on-Trent
Ocado Group is to open a 55,000 square foot automated customer fulfilment centre (CFC) in Stoke-on-Trent in a move that is expected to create hundreds of jobs.
The company has taken the final unit at Indurent Park Stoke Central, a 530,000 square foot industrial and logistics space on the 300-acre Festival Park development in the city.
Subscribe to TRBUnder the agreement, Ocado will install its latest technology with the aim of going live in FY28. The site will be equipped with Ocado’s Re:Imagined technology suite, including the 600 Series bot, On-Grid Robotic Pick, and a fully automated freezer.
Ocado said it will transfer its existing online order volumes into the CFC, which is expected to go live using just over half of its design capacity.
