Morrisons to raise hourly pay to £13.11 by October

Morrisons has said its proposed pay deal for supermarket and manufacturing staff covered by its national agreement with USDAW has received a 91.87% vote in favour in a recent ballot.

The deal will see pay for a customer assistant rise from the current £12.81 to £13 on 20 July with all other hourly rates for roles covered by the agreement increasing by 19p.

In October, the rate will climb to £13.11 with all other hourly rates for roles covered in the agreement rising by 11p.

Morrisons has also confirmed that all eligible hourly paid colleagues will receive a one off fixed payment of between £25 and £175 based on their contractual hours.

A first phase has seen the established rate of pay for a customer assistant increase to £12.81 from March.

Jodie Keating, group people director of Morrisons, said: “We’re pleased that we can now implement the pay proposal and increase pay for our colleagues to reward them for the contribution they make to our business. I would like to thank all our colleagues for everything they continue to do for Morrisons.”
