Holland & Barrett to open new London store

Holland & Barrett is to open a new London store at Angel Central in Islington.

Due to launch on 3 December after the current Covid-19 lockdown lifts, the new shop will be a relocation from the retailer’s previous Angel store and will be bigger at 1,389 square feet.

Antony Houghton, group retail and property director at Holland & Barrett, said: “At a time when health and wellness is more important to our customers than ever, we are really pleased to be opening a bigger store and expanding our offer to the community in this vibrant local hub. Angel Central is a retail destination known for its local community and our new home on Upper Street will give the huge Islington catchment of office workers and residents even better access to health and wellness expertise on their doorstep.”

CBRE and CWM acted for Angel Central while Prime Retail represented Holland & Barrett.

Ciara Daffy, asset manager at CBRE Global Investors, said: “Holland & Barrett is one of the biggest health and wellness brands in Europe, and it is testament to the pulling power of Angel Central that we have been able to relocate and upsize them in Islington. Angel Central’s £16 million investment works are very nearly complete – as lockdown is lifted we will be able to fully unveil the new-look destination, and to add Holland & Barrett now makes this a very exciting time for our community.”
