Asda has appointed Christopher Jones to the position of senior director – retail technology, a role he has held on an interim basis for the past year.

“Five years ago, I joined with a passion for how technology can transform retail—and what a journey it’s been. I’m incredibly proud of what our team has achieved, most recently leading the Walmart/Asda separation, ensuring our technology estate stood up independently and that every colleague came with us every step of the way.
“This role is a huge privilege, and I don’t take it lightly. Thank you to the brilliant colleagues, leaders, and partners who’ve supported, challenged, and inspired me along the way – you know who you are. I’m proud of how far we’ve come and excited about what we can achieve next.”
Earlier this month, Asda announced that it had reshuffled its leadership team as it confirmed that Liz Evans, chief commercial officer for non-food and George managing director, had decided to leave the business. This included David Lepley being given an expanded role of chief operating officer and Rachel Eyre becoming chief customer and digital officer.
