Aldi to donate proceeds from tomato sales to Teenage Cancer Trust
Aldi has teamed up with Teenage Cancer Trust in a new fundraising drive aimed at supporting young people who have been diagnosed with cancer.
The two week initiative will see proceeds from sales of the supermarket’s 220g Specially Selected Piccolato Tomatoes contributing to an expected £25,000 donation for the charity.
The proceeds will help Teenage Cancer Trust continue its work in supporting young people aged 13 to 24 which includes funding specialist nurses, youth support coordinators, and the charity’s dedicated units within NHS hospitals across the UK.
This latest initiative forms part of Aldi’s ongoing partnership with Teenage Cancer Trust, which has generated more than £11 million to date through customer donations, colleague-led fundraising, and cause-related marketing activity.
Never Miss a Retail Update!Julie Ashfield, chief commercial officer at Aldi UK, said: “Tomatoes are a staple for many of our customers, so this is a simple but powerful way for people to get involved and help make a difference to young people across the country.

In July 2020, Aldi pledged to raise £10 million for charity by 2027 after exceeding its original £5 million target more than 18 months ahead of schedule. Having now reached the £10 million milestone earlier than expected, Aldi has committed to raising £15 million by 2027.
