Aldi reveals list of ‘priority locations’ for new UK stores
Aldi has revealed its latest wish list of ‘priority locations’ for new stores as it ramps up expansion plans.
The supermarket said it is looking for freehold, leasehold or long leasehold sites in prominent locations with good visibility. It also asking landowners and agents to come forward with suitable opportunities.
Subscribe to TRBJonathan Neale, managing director of national real estate at Aldi UK, said: “We know how important it is for people to have access to affordable, high-quality food close to where they live, which is why we’re focused on identifying the communities that would benefit most from a new Aldi store.
“Opening new stores in these areas means we can bring great value to more customers, while also creating jobs and offering industry-leading pay.”
The news follows Aldi’s recent £40 million investment in London, where eight new stores are set to open this year. The supermarket is investing over £370 million in new UK stores this year and is currently working towards a long-term target of 1,500 locations nationwide.
