Aldi Scotland invests £8 million in lowering prices

Aldi Scotland has revealed that it has invested over £8 million in cutting prices prices on everyday essentials items across fresh, frozen, ambient, household and personal care products in the first quarter of 2026.

Recent examples of price cuts have included Frasers Macaroni Cheese, reduced to £1.09 from £1.19 (0.325kg), MacAulay’s Beef Olives cut to £3.59 from £3.75 (0.40kg), and Frasers Ready-Made Mince & Tatties (0.34kg) down to £1.49 from £1.59.

Alan Leslie, director of buying at Aldi Scotland, said: “We understand the financial pressures many households face. Aldi Scotland’s decisive action in reducing prices across a wide range of products aims to make shopping more affordable for our customers, ensuring quality and value go hand in hand.”

“With nearly 500 products reduced so far in 2026, we’re helping shoppers make their money go further, without compromising on quality.”

The news follows Tesco’s announcement last month that it had extended its Aldi Price Match scheme to more than 2,000 Express convenience stores.
