Aldi hiring 600 people to work at its new Bardon distribution centre
Aldi is creating 600 roles at its new automated distribution centre in Leicestershire as it builds up operations at the site over the next year.
The facility in Bardon, which opened in May and began fresh produce operations in September, is the supermarket’s first automated distribution centre in the UK.
Subscribe to TRBAldi has invested more than £500 million into the site as part of its £1.6 billion UK expansion plan.
Once fully operational, the facility will be the biggest supermarket distribution centre in the country, capable of moving around seven million pallets each year.
With recruitment now under way, Aldi said the roles will include warehouse operations, logistics and transport, with start dates over the next year.
Jonathan Heaton, managing director of Bardon at Aldi, said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming more people to the Bardon team as recruitment continues over the coming months.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to build a career in logistics, whether they’re just starting out or bringing previous experience, and to build the technical skills that are increasingly valuable in modern supply chain operations.
“We’re also proud to be working with local colleges and employment partners to help create opportunities for people across Leicestershire. Every new colleague joining Bardon will play an important role in supporting Aldi’s continued growth and helping us build our future distribution network.”
