Aldi invests £16 million in Easter price cuts
Aldi is investing £16 million in cutting prices across its Easter range and key product lines.
The news comes as the supermarket prepares to sell nearly 17.5 million Easter eggs in the coming weeks.
Subscribe to TRBPrices will be reduced on products such as champagne, prosecco, and branded and own-label confectionery.
Giving examples, Aldi said the price of Nicolas De Montbart Champagne Brut will be cut by 29% to £9.99, while Spumante Prosecco will see a 11% reduction to £4.69.
The supermarket has pledged not to be beaten on the price of Easter vegetables, with carrots, swede and parsnips priced from four pence. It is expecting to sell nearly 10 million units across its Super 6 range over Easter week.
Aldi has also cut the price of branded Easter eggs from Cadbury by 40% to 99p.
