River Island chief product officer steps down

River Island‘s chief product officer Phil Cooke has stepped down after five years in his role.

According to Drapers, he has left the fashion retailer with immediate effect to pursue new opportunities.

Prior to joining River Island in 2018, Cooke worked with Arcadia Group for nearly 13 years. Whilst there his most recent role was Topman managing director, but he also previously held buying director and head of buying roles at the menswear brand.

The news follows River Island chief executive Will Kernan and marketing director Jill Gate both leaving the business last November.

River Island subsequently announced that Richard Bradbury was rejoining the company as executive chair with full responsibilities for leadership of the business.
