Footasylum chief digital officer departs the business after ten years
Footasylum chief digital officer Mike Wallwork has departed after a decade with the company.
He has not announced his next move, but said it was now time to seek a new challenge. Wallwork added that he is taking time out to “relax and recharge” and is keeping an open mind about what comes next.
Subscribe to TRBPrior to joining Footasylum, initially as head of ecommerce, he was ecommerce director at Daniel Footwear. He began his career at JD Williams and then moved to Barratts where he worked his way up to ecommerce director.
Announcing the news on LinkedIn, Wallwork said: “I’d like to share that after a fantastic ten years at Footasylum, I’ve decided that the time is right for a new challenge
“What a journey it has been, massive growth achieved though building first class, award winning teams (being part of their growth being my proudest memories) – digital trading, omni, web dev/UX, IT/digital delivery for the whole business, data team.
“What started as a family business, then the float followed, a three year CMA process, new PE ownership…. it really has been quite the ride, but so many valuable learnings have been taken from that.
“It’s been emotional, but rewarding and worth every second.”
The news follows last month’s announcement that Footasylum has appointed former Gymshark general manager Hannah Mercer as its new chief executive. She is due to join the business at the beginning of May.
