Bershka opens new store in Manchester
Bershka has opened a new flagship shop at Manchester’s Trafford Centre.
The fashion brand said the store concept aims to integrate the building’s architecturally significant interior with a store prototype already used in other locations.
Spanning 1,200 square metres, the space is arranged into three independent sections for the Bershka, BSK and Man collections. Each has its own entrance and features different materials on the perimeter furniture to visually define the space.
Following a chromatic and materials study, the store was designed in a grey colour palette to ensure a neutral space that highlights the vibrancy of the clothing collections.
Subscribe to TRBDesigned as sculptural wooden pieces, the checkout areas include both traditional and self-checkout counters to improve the overall flow of the store.
Meanwhile, custom sound panels have been designed and installed in central areas of each section to give a strong visual and acoustic presence.
Bershka has also created a new augmented reality experience in which two mirrors with AR technology allow customers to try on products through different filters just by standing in front of them.
By scanning the QR code on the AR mirrors, customers can access the digital fitting room on the Bershka app where they can use these or other filters on their mobile phones and share the content directly on their social media profiles.
Bershka said the project has prioritised the use of sustainable materials, lighting, systems, and construction resources.
