Boxpark expands Playbox leisure concept to Croydon

Boxpark will be taking its PlayBox leisure concept to Croydon this winter.

Featuring UV pool tables, table tennis, shuffleboard, glow-pong, air hockey and a fully functioning bar, the Croydon space will be the biggest PlayBox to date at 3,000 square feet.

Boxpark Croydon opened in October 2016 and is set in over 90 shipping containers. The PlayBox concept will be added in early 2023.

Simon Champion, Boxpark chief executive, said: “The events we run across our various Boxpark locations continue to perform really well and demonstrate the continued appetite among our customers for experiential. Our PlayBox concept has been a roaring success in Wembley and we can’t wait to launch PlayBox to Croydon to add a complementary element to our existing programming.”

The Croydon Boxpark will also be adding the HotBox and Nanny Bill’s restaurants to its line-up, with both due to open in December,

Champion added: “We’re equally delighted to support the success and growth of Nanny Bill’s and look forward to welcoming them to Croydon as we prepare for the World Cup.”
