Wickes revenue up 2.3% as retail arm returns to growth in Q2
Wickes has reported a return to growth in retail in its second quarter, as group revenue increased by 2.3% to £483 million.
Retail revenue grew by 1.8%, or 0.6% like-for-like, as TradePro continued to perform well, with sales up 6% following a 9% increase in active members. However, DIY sales were broadly flat, although there was 7% growth in digitally-led click & collect and home delivery.
Design and installation revenue for kitchens and bathrooms rose by 3.8%, as like-for-like sales increased by 1.8%. Wickes said its Lifestyle Kitchens and Bespoke Bathrooms offerings continued to generate strong growth, although orders for Bespoke Kitchen ranges were slower due to customers being more considered about larger purchases.
Subscribe to TRBWhile the overall number of design and installation projects increased, ordered sales by value for the period were slightly lower than in the same period last year.
During its first half, Wickes refitted or refreshed eight stores and closed one site. Across 2026 it expects to open four to five new sites and to refit or 15 to 20 stores.
Looking ahead, the company said it remains comfortable with consensus expectations for adjusted pre-tax profit for 2026.
David Wood, chief executive of Wickes, said: “This has been another period of revenue growth, driven once again by volumes and an increase in the number of Wickes customers. Our Retail business has performed well given the current external environment, with TradePro’s convenient and value-led offer seeing even more local tradespeople turn to Wickes.
In Design and installation, the broadening of our offer is supporting current consumer trends, with our Wickes Lifestyle Kitchens proving particularly popular. Looking ahead, our strategy leaves us well-placed to continue to win as we accelerate our store rollout and refresh programme.”
