The shop also features a new bathroom and kitchen showroom to inspire customers in creating their dream homes. In addition, customers can access Wickes’ free design service, with expert advice from the store’s design consultants, as well as an installation service.

Meanwhile, local customers can take advantage of delivery straight from the store to nearby areas or use its click & collect service.

The shop at Moreton Hall Estate on Easlea Road is the second of four former Homebase sites to be converted into Wickes stores. Some 17 of the 30 jobs in the store have been filled by former Homebase employees.

Sarah Taitt, chief property & services officer at Wickes, said: “We’re delighted to open our new store in Bury St Edmunds on Friday 4th July, bringing reliable home improvement products and expert guidance to the local community.

“We’ve welcomed 17 former Homebase colleagues to the Wickes team and are proud to create further employment opportunities in the area.

“Demonstrating our commitment to sustainability, the store includes an air source heat pump, an energy-efficient technology that reduces the building’s carbon footprint and supports our environmental goals.

“Our dedicated team looks forward to providing practical advice, quality products, and friendly service to help customers complete their home projects with confidence.”
