ProCook hails record first half trading performance

ProCook has reported a record first half trading performance after delivering its eighth consecutive quarter of growth.

Total revenue in the kitchenware retailer’s second quarter increased by 25.1% to £21.3 million as growth in like-for-like revenue accelerated to 12.2%.

ProCook attributed its strong performance to enhanced commercial discipline and significant strategic progress across key areas, including new store openings, retail service excellence, and paid social marketing initiatives.

Retail revenue climbed 25%, or 5.9% on a like-for-like basis, while ecommerce revenue advanced 25.5%, with like-for-like growth of 23.2%.

The quarterly performance meant that ProCook’s revenue increased by 20.6% to £34.1 million in the six months to 12 October.

Lee Tappenden, ProCook chief executive, said: “The group’s strong second quarter performance marks our eighth consecutive quarter of growth, delivering a record first half trading performance, with our disciplined approach to trading and strong execution of our clear strategy enabling us to significantly outperform the market and grow market share.”

During the half year, the retailer opened six new stores to take the total to 71 sites after one closure. In addition, a new store format was developed and launched in Birmingham Bullring.

Looking ahead, Tappenden said: “With momentum building, a record number of customers shopping with us, and expanded ranges and number of stores, we are well positioned for the peak trading period.

“Whilst mindful of the economic backdrop, we are on track and confident in delivering a strong full year performance, in line with market expectations.”
