OKA boosted by strong Christmas sales growth

OKA has seen its sales rise by 21% year-on-year in the ten weeks to 28 December.

The premium home interiors brand said momentum during its Black Friday period continued through to its winter sale, with record performances across its furniture, lighting and accessories ranges.

Like-for-like sales climbed by 19% driven by a 10% uplift in customer numbers. OKA said margins had also improved on the same period last year.

Founded by Lady Astor in 1999, OKA trades through 12 UK showrooms, online and via its interior designer base.

The brand has recently announced plans to expand its UK footprint with additional concession stores, following the launch of its first two locations at Redbrick Mill in West Yorkshire and Fenwick in Newcastle. It is currently looking to expand to more places outside of London and the South East.

Mark Saunders, chief executive of OKA, said: “We welcomed a record number of customers to the brand over the seasonal trading period, with strong contributions from both our store and online businesses. Our teams have worked hard to make our pricing more affordable and offer fresh throughout the period.

“Looking ahead, we’re continuing to scale our UK presence through an expanding showroom and concession network as well as online, where a growing number of our customers are transacting, and continuing to extend OKA into adjacent categories as a leading luxury home interiors brand.”
