Dunelm has appointed Foot Locker’s Vijay Talwar as a non-executive director.

Due to join the homeware retailer’s board on 1 October, he will also be a member of the audit and risk, remuneration and nominations committees.

Talwar currently holds the position of executive vice president and chief executive of Europe, Middle East and Africa at Foot Locker. His previous roles within the business have also included being global president of digital where he was credited with driving the successful transformation of the retailer’s direct to consumer platform. His career also includes stints with Sears Holdings and Blue Nile, The William J. Clinton Foundation, India and EL Rothschild.

Andy Harrison, Dunelm chairman, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Vijay to Dunelm.
