Viral haircare brand Hair Syrup launches at 600+ Target stores in US

Hair Syrup, the independent British haircare brand behind a viral range of pre-wash oil treatments, has entered the US through a nationwide launch at Target.

The brand is now available in more than 600 Target stores across the country, as well as on Target.com.

Hair Syrup was founded in 2020 by Lucie Macleod (pictured) while she was a university student experimenting with natural oils to help repair her bleach-damaged hair. Since then, it has built its growth through social media, community and word of mouth.

The brand gained further attention following Macleod’s appearance on BBC’s Dragons’ Den last year, when all six investors declined to invest.

Hair Syrup said the expansion follows significant demand from American consumers, with the brand’s website currently receiving over 19,000 visits per day from the country.

The brand has launched in the US through Target Beauty Studio, Target’s curated assortment of prestige, emerging and global beauty brands. The range includes a selection of Hair Syrup’s bestselling pre-wash and leave-in hair oils.

Macleod said: “Entering the US has always been part of our long-term vision for Hair Syrup, so to reach this point independently and without outside investors makes it incredibly special.

“We’ve seen amazing demand from American customers for years through our website and social community, and this feels like a very natural next step for the brand.

“Target has been such an incredible partner in launching the brand, and we are so excited to have them retailing the range through Target Beauty Studio nationwide.”
