The Natural Love Company reveals 400% growth as consumers demand greener sex

Covid start-up sex toy retailer, The Natural Love Company, reveal demand for eco-friendly pleasure is growing.

The Natural Love Company has revealed a 400% year-on-year growth as an increasing number of consumers look for sex toys and wellness aids that are made with less-toxic, sustainable materials and are greener for the environment.

In recent years the taboos around sex toys have diminished. Aided by celebrity endorsements from stars such as Cara Delevingne and Gwyneth Paltrow, the conversation around sex toy use has become much more open, which in turn has seen sales for adult toys rocket.

According to The Natural Love Company, online searches for ‘adult sex toys’ peaked at their highest point for five years in 2022. As Brits become more familiar with the health benefits associated with sex toys, the perception of using them has changed.

Ben Foster, Co-founder and Director of The Natural Love Company shared: “The past few years have been a really exciting time for the industry as conversations surrounding sex and the use of sex toys have become much more open.

“We are proud to be disrupting the space with sustainable and ethical toys that are made to the highest quality, for a five-star customer experience.

“All of our products are carbon neutral and we also offer our customers a range of organic and vegan-friendly lubes, toy cleaners and condoms. As we look to the future we are excited to launch several new products this year, some of which will form part of our brand new recycled ocean plastics range.”

The company has revealed that post-purchase survey data shows that 84% of customers say they chose The natural Love Company because of their environmental credentials.

Many mainstream retailers have been reporting huge spikes in sales over the past two years for sex toys. In February 2022, Tesco signed an exclusive partnership with Lovehoney to stock products including vibrators and lube. Holland & Barrett also launched a range of vegetable-shaped, vegan-friendly ‘guilt free’ sex toys.

The Natural Love Company which is based in Cornwall was launched in 2020 and are members of various sustainability initiatives including Tree-Nation, 1% for the Planet and The Ocean Foundation.
