Superdrug to recruit for 1,000 seasonal roles

Superdrug has launched a national recruitment drive as it looks to hire an additional 1,000 sales assistants to support stores during Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas.

The health and beauty retailer said this year is set to be its biggest festive season to date following the introduction of its Beauty Playground concept in 30 stores nationwide. Superdrug has also added a range of Korean beauty brands across selected stores and grown its own-brand portfolio with new products.

Amy Davies, Superdrug’s people director, said: “As we prepare for our biggest Christmas yet, we’re excited to welcome new colleagues into the Superdrug community. This year we’ve continued to focus on enhancing the in-store experience for our customers, it’s an exceptional time to join our business.

“We’re looking for people who are passionate about customer service and eager to learn. In return, we offer one of the most competitive employment packages and training programmes in retail.

“Our teams are at the heart of our success, and we take pride in fostering a culture that is inclusive, supportive and driven by shared ambition.”

During the Christmas trading period in 2024, Superdrug’s December sales increased by 5.1% year-on-year, driven by continued growth in its Health & Beautycard membership and exclusive member deals.

Simon Comins, Superdrug’s chief operating officer, said: “Christmas is always a pivotal and exciting time for Superdrug, and these new roles will enable us to deliver our best festive season yet.

“Our stores are ready for the season, supported by continued investment in our existing portfolio through the innovative Beauty Playground format and the opening of new stores.

“We remain committed to delivering exceptional service and an enhanced shopping experience for every customer this Christmas.”
