LVMH to recruit 25,000 people aged under 30
Luxury group LVMH is planning to recruit 25,000 people under the age of 30 worldwide as part of plans to accelerate its HR and corporate social responsibility policy.
The roles will include nearly 5,000 internships or apprenticeships, as well as 2,500 posts through permanent employment contracts in France.
LVMH said it was making the move due to the “particularly difficult economic context for younger generations” following the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic.
To support the ambition, LVMH is strengthening its Craft the Future action plan. This will include opening up access to its educational platform, available at INSIDELVMH.com, for all young people around the world, regardless of their background or training, to enable them learn more about luxury trades and prepare them for roles in the sector. The group will also focus on preserving and passing on skills, and recruiting in crafts and sales professions through its “Métiers d’Excellence” programme.
Chantal Gaemperle, director of human resources and synergies at LVMH, said: “At a time when the Covid-19 crisis has particularly affected the younger generations and impacted their employability, LVMH intends to accompany and support them in a concrete way to build their careers. This is the purpose of our “Craft the future” action plan. Beyond the recruitment figures, it is essential for the Group to commit to the employability of young people by improving the visibility and knowledge of our expert trades.”
