Currys names Martin Raper as new head of stores
Currys has promoted Martin Raper to the position of head of stores.
Raper has worked with the electricals retailer for nearly 20 years, initially on the shop floor when the business was known as Dixons Carphone. Before his promotion, he served as head of operational excellence for the UK and Ireland.

“Over the past four years we have rewired the store operating model. The simplification work, the operational frameworks, the colleague experience improvements, none of that happens without an exceptional team behind it. Thank you to every one of them.
“Now I get to take everything I’ve learned and put it to work across 279 stores and 9,200 colleagues. The ambition is simple: grow sales, make Currys famous for great customer service, and make working in one of our stores the best job in retail.”
Earlier this month, Currys announced that it had appointed Fredrik Tønnesen as group chief executive to succeed Alex Baldock. He has led Currys’ Nordics business since March 2023 after joining the company 20 years ago.
