Currys launches Christmas recruitment drive for 1,000 seasonal roles

Currys has launched its Christmas recruitment drive as it looks to fill around 1,000 seasonal retail roles in its 297 UK and Ireland stores.

The first colleagues will start from 11 October, with contracts running until 2 January 2027.

Currys said each new starter will also complete a two-day virtual induction before their first shift, to prepare them for their role.

Last year, almost half of Currys’ seasonal retail colleagues were offered a permanent position once peak trading ended. The tech retailer expects many of the recruits to be new to paid work or returning to the workplace after a break.

Caroline Hirst, Currys chief people officer, said: “Every year, Peak gives people right across the country their first experience of the world of work or their way back into it. That matters to us so much. Almost half of last year’s seasonal colleagues are still with us, and that tells you what a Christmas job at Currys can become.

“At a time when more than a million young people are locked out of education, employment or training, retail still has a job to do: giving people a genuine way into employment.”
