Tesco launches free grocery pop-up for returning holidaymakers
Tesco has launched a ‘Back From Holiday Shop’ at London Southend Airport, where returning travellers can pick up a free bag of Tesco essentials when they collect their luggage.
The supermarket has teamed up with the airport and Clubcard Reward partner easyJet holidays on the pop-up, which is open for one day on 29 July.
Subscribe to TRBThe initiative follows new research conducted by Censuswide, which found that a quarter of Brits find coming home to an empty fridge one of the most frustrating parts of returning from holiday.
The bags contain everyday essentials including Tesco Finest English Breakfast Tea Bags, Tesco British Semi Skimmed Milk, a Tesco Finest Wholemeal Seeds & Grains Loaf and Tesco Finest Strawberries, as well as classic British staples like Tesco Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce, Tesco Finest Mature English Cheddar Cheese and Tesco Yorkshire Pudding Batter Mix.
As part of its partnership with easyJet holidays, Tesco is also giving away ten £250 vouchers via a competition on Instagram, where people are asked to comment with the one essential they want after a holiday. In addition, one winner will be offered a free easyJet holiday worth £1,500.
The Back From Holiday Shop has been launched as part of Tesco’s “Need Anything From Tesco?” campaign, which aims to highlight the ways Tesco “goes above and beyond” for its customers. It also builds on the supermarket’s long-standing partnership with easyJet holidays, where customers can convert their Clubcard points into easyJet holidays credit through Tesco Clubcard Reward Partners.
