Tesco brings virtual try-on to F&F clothing in in-store trial

Tesco is trialling new virtual try-on technology at its Sandhurst Extra store as it looks to give customers the chance to see how around F&F womenswear and menswear items look before making a purchase.

Customers can use the technology by taking or uploading a photo of themselves onto a digital try-on screen in the clothing department. They can also select a digital model and view items in different sizes.

Tesco said the trial will help it to understand how the technology can help customers browsing in store to discover new styles and feel more confident that the items they choose will be right for them.

The virtual try-on screen have been introduced as part of a wider refresh of the F&F department at Sandhurst Extra, which now includes new changing rooms and a dedicated service hub to make checkout and returns easier. The store is now also offering a wider range of  F&F clothing with the department now featuring new signage and updated lighting.

Tesco is continuing to expand its online fashion offer following its launch last year. This has included the addition of hundreds of additional styles, more sizes and online-exclusive ranges, alongside improved search tools, styling inspiration and more fashion-led imagery.
